RPI to co-locate the 2008 RPI Fall Summit with
The Motivation Show

Recognition Professionals International (RPI) has announced that the 2008 RPI Fall Summit will be co-located with The Motivation Show on Tuesday, September 23, at Chicago’s McCormick Place. The Fall Summit brings together more than 100 recognition professionals each year from some of America’s leading companies looking to enhance organizational performance through workforce recognition.

Christi Gibson, CRP, Executive Director of RPI, said “85% of attendees come to the RPI Fall Summit for the educational programs. Organizations want to learn how to develop a cost-effective recognition program and are searching for the tools for implementation. RPI provides best practice standards, case studies, training, the Recognition Strategy Model, CRP certification designation and the methodology recognition professionals need to align their organization’s recognition culture to their mission and goals.”

Gibson continued, “A recent research study found that recognition programs account for 2.7 percent of payroll. With U.S. payroll costs at 3 trillion (2006 - source census.gov), this translates to $81 billion spent on recognition.”

Pete Erickson, Managing Director of The Motivation Show, added, “Last year, more than 5,000 Show registrants indicated an interest in Employee Recognition and Awards, more than any other buying demographic that we track. With the involvement and support of RPI this year, The Motivation Show will offer an outstanding educational and networking opportunity for any executive interested in learning more about recognition best practices, along with the products and services available to plan effective recognition programs.”

In addition to the RPI Fall Summit, The Motivation Show’s Executive Leadership Conference: Strategies to Motivate, Empower, and Reward, will feature thirteen 75-minute seminar programs in the Employee Engagement & Recognition learning track. Topics include:

Certified Recognition Professional® curriculum offered during show week...
All effective recognition programs are dynamic cycles of assessment, strategy, implementation, and review.  While this cycle is easy to define, it's difficult to execute well.  RPI has developed the Certified Recognition Professional® (CRP) curriculum to guide participants through this best practice process and produce measurable benefits for their organizations. To earn a CRP designation, candidates must complete four facilitator-led courses and pass the required testing.  The RPI Certified Recognition Professional program sets the standard for assessment of an individual’s abilities and provides a means for recognition professionals to acquire the needed skills and knowledge to excel.
